The Mathews County Parent Resource Center is a partnership between the Mathews County Special Education Advisory Committee, Mathews County Public Schools, and Mathews Memorial Library. The center serves the families of those with special needs, whether it be academic, physical, or intellectual. The center works with these families to educate them on services that are available to them in the community and surrounding areas. The center works with local businesses and organizations to ensure inclusion for all. One example is our work with the local YMCA to ensure that all people are welcome to any of their programs regardless of their physical or intellectual ability. We purchase materials for the library that support those who care for and work with special needs individuals. We strive to educate families on the special education programs available at the local schools, colleges and other educational institutions.
The Mathews County Parent Resource Center is overseen by the Mathews County Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC). The SEAC board is comprised of parents, educators and communty members who reside in Mathews County,
Barbara Fleming, Chairperson
Louise Lebron, Director of Special Education, Mathews County Public Schools
Michelle Guziewicz, Tresurer
Lisa McCann, Secretary
Mall Fraser-Seay, Voting Faculty Member
Lori Jackson, Coordinator, Mathews County Parent Resource Center
